Curly Wurly

So, I'm on day 3 of my growing quest so I've decided to have a bit of fun today.

My normal perfectly sleek bob has been scrunch dried with a bit of John Freida Curl Boost mousse and then using my Remmington styler kit as seen below, I've curled it a bit:

The result is not bad actually...

I think I could get used to this .... IF I had an hour spare each day to do it that is ....Still, it makes a nice change and fits well with my relaxed, "kid's are on school holiday" kinda mood :)

Off to the salon to see what Kim makes of it!

Day 1 Growing Out the BOB!

I have had SO many comments these past few days - not JUST about my hair ....which always seems to get attention  ... and, after my little escapade earlier this year trying to grow The Fringe out (said like THE DONALD),  I am loving my hair and have decided to grow it .... more about that later!

SO, back to the compliments - it's THE NAILS!  I had to admit, they look pretty groovy - very Victoria Beckham.... "Are those yours  - are they real?" asked the lady in the petrol station.  "They're SO glamourous ... did you get them painted professionally?"   I almost retort, "Obviously ... I'm totally rubbish at painting my own ... and who's got time for that nonsense anyway!"

But I was polite, and told her that they were Shellac Gel Nails in Hollywood and that I was chuffed to bits with them.  After telling her where to get hers done - The Bald Englishman Hair and Beauty Salon on Moffat Road, Tauranga, we parted company ... with her shouting after me, "I'm gonna get mine done love!"  Bless!

Not bad eh?

SO, back to the hair....

I have decided to grow out my mid length bob and go back to a style I had about 7 years ago - something like a Jemima Goldsmith / Jennifer Garner look:

Ok, so it's going to be a bit of a mission ..... but how hard can it be?

I've grown my hair from Victoria Beckham pixie to Kate Beckinsale - esque in 2 years .....SO .... I'm half way there already (Yeh, right ... keep telling yourself that!)

After much consideration, this is the style I'm aiming for by July 2013.... hmmmmm I might even go for this colour when I get there!

Little Bit of A Vixon On The Quiet

It's been a while since I've updated my blog - note to self "can do better"!

 I've discover SHELLAC and I'm in LOVE! Kimbo launched the beauty salon recently and, as I like to "test stuff out" I thought I'd have my nails done.

 Those who know me probably think I do this all of the time - I AM afterall a glamouous girl ... but hey, who has time to sit for an hour and relax? I'm not a footballer's wife you know!! But I decided, "What the heck ...let's give it a try.... my sister-in-law gets it done all the time, so time to see what all the fuss is about..."

OMG - I LOVE IT!!! I was a little cautious at first - "just a frenchie" please. Afterall, I'm a high flying professional - no tallons for me - just a nice Victoria Beckham do.....

Fast forward a month -   my nails are stunning even though I say so myself! They are a beautiful shape and have grown SO much. Today I've gone for the "HOLLYWOOD" - red with little sparkly bits ...AMAZZING!!!! So, off to the Board Meeting on Friday with vixon nails - who'd have thought it!!!

Who'd have thought it!

A Kid in a Sweetshop

Yes, that's me - like a kid in a sweetshop!

How fab it is to be married to Kim, The Bald Englishman!  I have open access to all those fabulous hair and beauty things ... cuts & colours, nail polish, beauty services, shine sprays, hair sprays, gels, shampoos, conditioners .... if it's new in the salon, I want to try it!!!

HOWEVER - this doesn't mean that life is simple for me when it comes to my own hair and personal grooming ...

Oh no!

You see, I am EXTREMELY fussy - Kim's worst client I guarantee

..... I'm always trying something new with my hair (check out my blog Growing Out My Fringe at the top of this page), I LOVE testing (stealing!!) new products that he gets in....  it drives him nuts ...  :)

Things to know about me:

1.  As I've said - I'm really fussy (understatement of the year!)
2.  I have learnt that I am not a "wash & go" type of girl
3.  I HATE chipped nail polish!
4. I'm a Virgo & a maximiser - could it get any worse??
